Hello everyone!

Post by Pernell P »

  • hello all, I’ll try to keep this intro short!

Who am I?

Name’s Pernell, age is 20, and I’m an aspiring copywriter! Reading, writing, and researching are some of my favorite hobbies too.(I’m a nerd.)

I want to become a conversion copywriter specializing in sales email, sales pages.

I haven’t decided on any niches or anything yet.

So, why did I join?

there are a few reasons, but the main one is to form connections.

Everything I know comes from books, videos, and articles. However, I don’t actually know any copywriters myself.

I want to get to know veterans and other newbies in the field. And being in a community like this is invaluable. Learning is just more fun with like-minded people.

So, what can I offer to the forum?

It’s embarrassing to admit, but I have no actual experience.

However, I’ve studied a lot on the subject for the last year.

Uh, that’s all from me. Thank you for reading.

Hopefully I can contribute to the forum!

Some books I’ve read:

The Copywriting Handbook by Joseph Sugarman

Tested Advertising Methods by John Caples

The Ultimate Sales Letter – Dan Kennedy

The Boron Letters – by Gary Halbert

Scientific Advertising – by Claude Hopkins

I’ve also read books on self development, selling in person, and more!

Welcome Pernell,
Happy to have you here.

When you say…

I almost feel like we’re kindred spirits 😀 (those are some of my favorite hobbies too, and I’m also a nerd)

Super impressed at your list of reading materials. Few people under 40 even know (or care) about the classic masters of direct response copywriting. Many seem to think it’s all outdated in the age of the internet. When in reality, the medium has evolved, but consumer psychology hasn’t changed for hundreds of years (maybe thousands?).

This site is still in it’s infancy (started out as a hobby site just last year) and I’m looking forward to seeing how many writers we can help in the coming years.

Also looking forward to your contributions. And if there’s anything you can think of to make this site better, don’t hesitate to let me know. After all, I built this site for you…

All the best,

Steve

Pretty convenient that copywriting rolls these hobbies into one!

And thanks, It’s a real shame too. A lot of good stuff is in those books. And they’re pretty cheap.

helps that despite our technological advancement our psychology has been mostly the same.

I got a post idea or two I’ll type out when I’m free. Thanks for the warm welcome!
