Now for anyone who doesn’t understand the concept, let me just briefly explain what it means (for those of us who already know what it means, please bare with me for just a sentence or two)…
Your writing voice is basically the same thing as your writing style. But it’s a bit more than that…
It’s also about finding your best true style that flows freely and naturally as if you're speaking the words onto the page.
I’m sure others here could come up with a more detailed definition. (But I’m not sure that more detail would make it any more clear or understandable?)
Now personally, when it comes to content writing I have a few “writing voices” depending on what I’m writing. And the one I use also depends on the mood I’m in, and the color of emotional attachment I have with the subject matter.
And when I’m writing sales copy I need to adapt to the market. So my true writing voice needs to be somewhat morphable. (yes, morphable is a word… go look it up
Anyway, back to the main question…
What is your writing voice? Is it…
– Casual?
– Conversational?
– Funny or witty?
– Straight to the point?
– Empathetic or nurturing?
– Journalistic?
– Something else…?
Do you even have a writing voice? (or do you even think you need one?)
I guess there’s no right or wrong answer to this question. I was just curious…
