Path to Financial Copywriting

Hi Everyone,

This question can relate to health copywriting as well but financial copywriting is top of mind because it seems difficult to break into.

Do you know of cases where a person breaks into financial copywriting without first working in-house full time somewhere where they get trained? e.g. Agora

Copywriting in general seems to be a career where you can achieve success so many different ways and without formal training but with a lot of hard work, practice, patience and persistence.

How about financial copywriting? If you write a good direct response financial letter for your portfolio (i.e. "good" letter but that has no metrics attached to it.. so "good" is in the eyes of the beholder!), can it catch the attention of someone who would hire you as a freelance copywriter? Or are there pretty hard limits in that niche if you're outside the industry?

Thanks for any insights.
