How Do You Get Past Writer’s Block?

Post by thewordsmitshub »

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking a lot about writer’s block lately. It’s that frustrating feeling when you’re staring at a blank page and nothing seems to flow. When I hit a wall, I usually try to switch gears, sometimes I’ll write something completely different, like a random journal entry or just let my mind wander for a bit. I’ve also found that stepping away and doing something else creative, like drawing or listening to music, can help spark new ideas.

What about you? How do you push past writer’s block when it strikes? I’d love to hear any tricks you use to get the words flowing!

Hi thewordsmitshub,
Welcome to the copywriter forums :)/

Yeah, writers block can be frustrating. Sometimes nothing works and I just have to walk away and distract my mind with something else, but walking away doesn't put words on the page so for me it's a last resort. Especially if I'm on a deadline.

One thing that works for me is to simply start writing... anything! Even stream of consciousness just to get the momentum going.
I've also used ChatGPT to write a few paragraphs, and then I start to edit what ChatGPT wrote and this can get the momentum flowing too.

Here's a couple of forum posts from a while back that talks about writers block. Take a look...
